NATIONAL ARTS IN THE SCHOOL DAY
On April 16, 2008 the Port Chester Council for the
Arts (PCCFA) of Port Chester, New York, launched
the first ever NATIONAL ARTS IN THE SCHOOL DAY.
It is one day set aside in the school year when
children in grades K-12 nationwide will have the opportunity to learn about and be inspired by the possibilities of the creative arts—in school.
The Port Chester Council for the Arts is encouraging all public and private schools across America to join them this year and every year in creating an arts-based school event or conducting classes with an arts focus. Our second annual event was held on April 15, 2009, and the third on April 15,2010. Our 2011 event took place on April 13, 2011.
Visit www.nationalartsintheschoolday.org for information
about NATIONAL ARTS IN THE SCHOOL DAY, including Port Chester school’s activities and K-12 sample lesson plans.
